Woohoo! WotBS Player's Guide is done!

I'm doing some reviews on the third edition version of these modules. I've read the first two, reviewed the second, and am reading the third for a review now. And, I have to say, that these are definitely worth a subscription. The authors aim big and largely deliver, with the few flaws easily fixed by a DM who's half-awake.

Just to follow up on the previous issues regarding notification. RPGnow got back to me (yes, already, thats quick service) and it seems that the box that you show in your screenshot is only available if you haven't purchased the product.

Yeah, that is a pity. Anyway, will have to do it the hard way.

Cheers

Strange. When I update the product file, RPGNow's system tells me it has sent notifications to everyone who has allowed this. So there's something somewhere.

I could be wrong on this but:

I believe this the same notification that is shown in the My Account section under the link: "View or change my product notification list"?

That looks to be where I can update this preference for notifications once I have downloaded the free guide.
So I think that is where you have to look for what you want to do. (of course this also is probably dependent on the email settings that you have for purchased updates in the "Select how you wish to be contacted by publishers." sections of the My Account section.)

Sorry I don't have time to do the neat guide to this that Morrus did ;)

I just went through the pages and tried some copy/paste tricks.. and they didn't work.

I think the right option is under the 'My Account' and use 'Select how you wish to be contacted by publishers' to enable the email notifications by publisher...

I guess I will find out next time the players guide gets updated!

I have that option selected and I didn't get updated about the revisions.

Should I have received an email about the updates to the PDF?

I really don't know how it works.

What I *can* do is send an email out via RPGNow's interface to notify folks who downloaded it of an update, but only a tiny percentage of customers allow that (most opt for "no contact allowed").

I'll also post here when it gets updated.

It is done. The definite, final version of the Player's Guide is now on RPGNow.

I sent out a message via RPGNow's system. It told me that a few hundred people got it (those being the ones who, according to them, "permit update notifcations"). But even if you didn't get the email, you can still download the latest version.
