The very significant problem that WotC faces with  DragonLance, is that while the brand may be WotC's property - it's Tracy's and Margaret's baby and always has been. If they are not involved, it doesn't really matter what logo WotC slaps on the product or what characters they purport to sell. It's not the real DragonLance, it's DINO (Dragonlance In Name Only).  Tracy and Margaret are more closely identified with that brand than are the original creators of any other brand WotC owns. While WotC may have had some success in selling a Greyhawk without EGG or a Forgotten Realms without Ed Greenwood - the same has never been true for DragonLance.Now, of course, none of this means that Tracy and Margaret will not be involved in some future DL brand renovation at WotC. But... saying is one thing, doing is another.Mind you, the movie has had Tracy's and Margaret's involvement from the start and as it's depicting the core story they created - that at least will stand or fall on its own merits.</blockquote>
