On the other hand, with a word count people would start to copypaste and post whole Shakespear plays for no reason at every opportunity. :\

If you were able to log into my university's computer science department network, and then finger me, you would see a short listing of info: my real name, when I last logged in, whether I have any unread mail, and my .plan file containing the complete comedies of Shakespeare. I'm still waiting for an angry email from someone attempting to locate me (or someone with a similar name).
