Work in progress: The Lady of Crows -- UPDATED

Klaus

First Post
Since there'll be a Deities & Demigods on the Raven Queen this month, I doubt WotC will reply on the article proposal I sent them last month. :)

To keep things from being wasted, I decided to sit down last night and write it out, with artowork and layout it. It's not finished, as I still need to include some crunch, but the origin of the Rav--- er... Lady of Crows is done.

Hope you all enjoy it.

EDIT: See last post for updated article.

Thanks for sharing, I have always wanted to know more about the Lady of Crows. Do you want feedback on it?
Always!

Rechan: IIRC, she's the second cousing of the King of Jackdaws and sister-in-law of the Earl of Jays.

And thanks, Hjorimir!

Squee!

Some call her The Uncaring Scythe. Others refer to her as Her Wintry Majesty, or the Veiled Crone.

It's struck me - it's kind of hard to run with the "Maiden, mother and crone" theme when she's always depicted as a young goth hottie with raven wings in official artwork. But that's Wizards' fault, not yours. :)

Like I said, work in progress. The full thing should have three sects dedicated to aspects of her. Her oracular aspect is the Crone. She goes about with four ravens, and is known to discuss violently with an old man with seven canaries.

I like how with the color black you were able to still give body and movement to her dress.

Her face . . . dunno. Little too square/manily. While she must be stern, it doesn't fit well with the curves of her body. But hey, it works for Paula Cole.
