Hi I am in process of building a a campaign set in a modern/near future Earth where Psionics is commonly and a slot of organizations use (possibly abuse) them for their purpose and need some help. I am needing good antagonists besides aliens and organizations - corporations, government agencies, military, cults etc. that fit in this type of setting. Anything that could link to real world myths would be good. Like were there any ancient cultures that "could" have some element of psionics or any humanoid "creatures" (or cryptids) that be more psionic based than magical? I know I separating that magic and psionics two different things.

Mmmm,

Ley lines and magnetic fields - I remember a book on the subject that pointed to the magnetic field could have been at a strenght that allowed humans to control it. Allowing them to move stone blocks to build things like Stone Henge. So, Druids could be antagonists...eco-terrorist.

The myth of Atlantis.

Chtulu myths - creatures from beyond could be an option, sort of the 3rd eye part of the brain.

Nazis - nuff said but Russia & the CIA did some crazy stuff with ESP
