World of darkness werewolf build questions

First Post
As mentioned in my previous thread me and my friends are playing out first WoD campaign and after a discussion with the story master about the concession that less books are more fun he limited the books to werewolf, mage and vampire. My original plan was to play a hunter but i'm not allowed to do that anymore. So my plan is this :I tell you guys the start for my character and you give build suggestions.

Things I have already decided:

  • He is a werewolf
  • He is a detective and i want him to continue to advance in his detective skills through werewolf powers
  • His primary weapon will be a gun
  • He will spend most of his time in human form
  • He knew nothing about the supernatural before he transformed
Here's the story.
Tracy Richards (My character) is a detective for the NYPD he just got his first big case, a little boy is missing and he has to find him. Eventually he finds the boy's corpse so he calls CSI to investigate the cause of death and stuff like that. One of the CSI members is secretly a mage (his name is Alexander) who can talk to the little boys ghost. The ghost is naturally drawn to Tracy and when tracy is alone in the room of death the little boy touches him triggering his innate werewolf abilities. Tracy falls to the floor as his first change takes place. As he grows more and more beast like he has no clue what is happening but Alexander does, he drags Tracy into a spare room where Tracy wakes up after the transformaiton has taken place. Alexander explains to Tracy he is a Werewolf, tracy doesnt belive Alexander. Throughout the story Tracy has to come to terms with the fact that this hidden world exists and that he is a part of it. His strong sense of justice help him as he tries to help all of these underground residents.

Things I haven't worked out yet and would like suggestions on:

  • what should his Auspice be for investigation and gun fights
  • What should his lodge be
  • What should his tribe be
  • What gifts do you suggest
Keep in mind i'm going for a traditonal noir detective who happens to find out hes a werewolf, hates it, and tries to use it to his advantage when possible but primaraly wants to hide it from everyone

About time I really started reading my WtF:

Probably mental attributes should be primary for investigation unless you want to be a social type. I would probably put physical last and put most of your points in Dexterity for firearms use. Same with skills.

Tribe: Probably Bone Shadow or Iron Master. Focus on Death, Knowledge or Insight gifts. Knowledge will have more immediate benefit. Most of the combat gifts are for melee combat.

Lodges: Can't be attained by starting characters.
