So I have been playing WoW since open Beta. I like the game a lot. I have a bunch of characters on multiple servers, but have found myself bored with it. My highest character is lvl 60 and since I am a casual player I am deadlocked. Any Suggestions?

(as of right now I have cancelled my subscription and it expires in 5 days.)

Well, if you don't play on a PvP server, try doing that. It definitely keeps things lively. As a casual player, you probably aren't up for doing the raids very often. What I do is have my primary 60th level character in the same guild as my alt and mostly play the alt. When something comes up over guild chat that my 60 might be interested in, I switch over. This lets me still accomplish things with my 60 without doing the 6 hour raid instances every night.

Alternatively, you could focus on a totally different type of character that you havent played before or switch factions to see more of the world in fine detail (if you havent already done so). If you are on a PvP, playing as the opposite faction is a good way of getting inside info on how the other side works or the layouts of various cities.

I personally wish I could keep together a casual guild, but it's pretty hard, as casual players seem to jump ship pretty quickly. If you happen to play on Twisting Nether (RP PvP server), drop a line to Akbar or Aeluin.

Recommendations:
- PvP - Battlegrounds can be a lot of fun and it's a good way to spend time and you can even get some good gear from it too! Downsides: the queue times are frelling awful on my server (Suramar), you basically have to queue up and go do something else. Also, if you're looking to gain rank, then it becomes less and less casual the higher you go.

- Casual Raid Guild - Find a raid guild that is a little more casual than some of the hardcore ones. Upside is that you get to enjoy getting phat lootz from the high level raid instances whenever you feel that you can make it, you can make some friends, and have a good time. Downside is that many casual guilds evolve into more hardcore guilds over time, especially as they get larger and want to progress into the more difficult instances. You may also find yourself getting sucked into 4 hour+ Molten Core and Zul'Gurub runs.

- Start a new character and begin the process all over again.

- Stop playing. Seriously, if you're bored and none of these ideas appeal to you, then why should you pay $15 dollars a month to do something you don't like?

Okay, update....

I have played (In order)
EQ
Star Wars Galaxies Beta
WoW
COH
and now EQII

of them all I find WoW the most engrossing, and COH the most mindless fun....

The endgame of WoW absolutely sucks in my opinion. The game is tremendous fun from levels 1-59, but once you hit 60 and pick up your blue gear, there's nothing left but endless 20 and 40-man raids through the same few instances and boring faction grinds. It really is World of Raidcraft post-60; not much room for casual players.

The devs really have their heads up their collective asses about it, too. It's been over a year with no new solo or even 5-10 man endgame content, people complain about it on the forums daily, and what do the devs do in the last patch? They release another uber 40-man raid instance. I can't believe how much time these guys spend creating content that only 5% or so of their player base will ever even see. It's just baffling to me.

QFT.

Those are among many of the reasons why I left the game last november after playing WoW since beta 1. The problem about the dev team is that they seem to design levels with the mega endgame raiding guilds in mind (due to the constant endgame gear grind) only to give casual gamers world events which amount to little more then farming or a brief quest chain which ultimately can be finished within a three days time. That is not mentioning that alot of the farming only really lasts up to 3 weeks before a massive server-wide farming requirement is completed (assuming you are on a PVE or PVP server.)

Yep. Blizzard touted WoW as "the everyman's MMORPG." And, from 1-59, it is. It's great fun for casual and hardcore gamers alike. But once you hit 60, it turns into Everquest. It's raid or die - there's nothing for casuals to do anymore. Very disappointing.

Does any body tryed D&D online?

When they include any 2 of the following, I'll be trying D&D online:

1) Druids
2) Shifters
3) Psionics

Until then, uh, sorry, but not interested. Of course, I've got a great group to raid with. I can understand if you don't find a good group to run instances or PvP with. And I'm really somewhere in between "hardcore" and "casual". I can usual string together a few hours, but it's okay if we miss occasionally.
