World War II Resources for d20 Fun...

Hey, I'm starting a d20 Modern Resources column over at Silven Crossroads where I review a handful of non-gaming resources then provide some crunch or a preview of an upcoming related d20 product. I'm starting with WWII, and interviewed Edward Kann about Rocketship Empires 1936. Look for it in a week or so! And, if anyone has anything they want covered, be sure to let me know!
The Short timeline of World War III

1945. February 4., Yalta:
Roosevelt and Churchill inform Stalin of the fate of the Endurance (A spaceship that destroyed itself, and a space station which was created by ‘them’), and request him to create a coalition. They sign the document called Pickering treaty in memoriam of the commander of the Endurance Henry Pickering. By this treaty they shall oppose any enemy together. Stalin denies that the Soviets have any information regarding “them” (it turned out before 1950 that the Moscow Scientific Academy’s Institute of Anatomy had examined more than one perfectly whole specimen) or that that there are any major nuclear or space research in Soviet territories. After not too much time he insists that he will tell the world everything if they don’t let him to spread out his territory across Europe. Roosevelt and Churchill allow it.
1945. July 17 Potsdam:
Churchill asks Truman that should they inform the world about ‘them’. Truman is against the idea according to the information of experts in Washington, so they dismiss the plan. Stalin gets even more territory according to the Pickering-treaty.
1945 August 9 Hiroshima:
The Enola Gay bomber which is in the air space of the city is doing meteorology research and takes pictures of a nuclear bomb’s devastation caused by ‘them’. Stalin is thinking about announcing this a Soviet victory, but the word has spread out that the bomb was developed in Los Alamos, and Truman –heeding the words of Rosse - doesn’t deny it. The experts who are researching ‘them’ cannot give an explanation but there is an idea that the Earth is between the war of separate groups of ‘them’.
1945 August 12 Roswell:
On three-power negotiations they decide that the Earth is in war with ‘them’. In the same time a lot of great names of psychology are called to explain the UFO syndrome. The result of this is the Hollywood project in 1946: In the next years the US government gives financial aid to the motion picture industry in order to make the attack of the aliens seem a hoax.
1945 September 1 Cape Canaveral:
A ban on every space research information. Within the limits of operation Paperclip all Nazi scientific information is sequestered or in some cases destroyed and the present foreign ministers unanimously declare that all scientific advancements (especially computer-technology) since 1939 should be kept a secret in order to explain why the Great Powers aren’t able to build spacecrafts that can take people into space. This is the theory of the ‘Authentic development’ .
1948 September 9 Los Alamos:
An unsuccessful nuclear explosion. Crompton in front of the Senate states that it would take at least another 30 years to have major breakthroughs.
1949 January 4 Normandy Aux-de-Villes:
French farmers discover at least 15 100’ deep concrete shafts each containing ‘sleeping’ German agents (they seem to be in some kind of stasis). With farming tools the farmers kill them before they could wake up.
1951 July 4 Lagrange point-5:
The USAF fleet of advanced Sonntags and Endurances suffer a fatal defeat from ‘them’. There are no survivors of this battle. Again some say that the people should be informed about the threat, but –this time by Stalin’s intervention- it is refused again.
1952 October 9:
The Nautilus tactical submarine which is located under the ice of the North Pole
is communicating via telepathic methods .
1955 January 16 Springfield, Colorado:
On a one manned space ship a prisoner arrives from the Nazi colony on the Moon, but he’s in such a bad condition that he dies during the interrogation. The Great Powers decide that 1957 will be the international Geophysics Year, and the Soviet Union will successfully plant the first Sputnik into Earth’s orbit. According this treaty the US will be the ‘first’ to reach the Moon.
1957 March 8-11 London:
Brit special units descend into the sewers –the Soviets are only observing them. They cannot salvage any material proof (that mysterious sewer dwelling people –morlocks- exist under London who are hearing voices who tell them how to build intricate machines).
1958 December 2:
Soviet observer space-ships report that to ‘them’ fleet fought a battle on the far side of the moon. The theory that tells that the Earth has fallen between to great power’s war has been officially accepted.
1960 July 1 Lagrange point-5:
The Allied fleet suffers major losses but destroys one and damages two ‘them’ space-fortress. The Nazi fleet on the Moon wants to help ‘them’, but ‘they’ also attack the Nazis. Each of the five Moon space-ships is destroyed. Three days later a radio-amateur called John Hoppes receives distress signals: according to him the message came from the Moon. The FBI and the county police take him into a mental hospital where he finally dies in 1978.
1969 July 20 Moon:
The US special forces attack the german base on the Moon and destroy it. By that time the Moon has only 24 inhabitants, each of them are old and sick men. They hand them over to the Soviet Union where on a secret trial they are sentenced to death. The American media they show a trick movie of the landing on the Moon.
1970 January 4 Murmansk:
During an exhumation of a mass graveyard, they find evidence that the Third Reich had an expedition of at least 2 men has gone to the Mars in 1945. The KGB informs the US embassy in Moscow. The USA announces that they will start massive Mars research. They send unmanned probes to the mars, but these probes cannot find a trace of the Nazi landing site on Mars.
1972 May 9 Moon: US mobile units suffer a devastating defeat from ‘them’ at Fra Mauro: the government announces that –due to the expenses- it will halt the Moon-Projects. The US Moon-Base is closed for unknown time.
1977 March 11 Atlanta:
The FBI is able to capture a living ‘them’ but it dies the next day. The reason is unknown.
1978 April 2 Washington:
The congress listens to Joseph Adams Abel who tells them that he lived for years as the prisoner of ‘them’ in one of the space-fortresses, and finally was able to escape by a one-man space-ship. Using the information provided by him British, Soviet, and US agents are trained for the mission of getting into the space-fortresses.
1982 November 9 Redwood California:
John F. Bollraugh special agent successfully starts a rebellion on a space-fortress controlled by ‘them’ and for once he can contact the Earth telepathically –this is the first time to make a telepathic contact from this far. After many casualties they defeat ‘them’ and take control of the space-fortress, but the attacks of the other space-fortresses cannot be evaded, even with the aid of the allied fleet, so they all die.
1986 May 17 Chernobyl:
The first successful nuclear explosion. The radioactive fog is blown into Finland’s direction the Soviet Union announces that a nuclear power plant’s rector block had been damaged. The allied start researching space nuclear weapons but the British are afraid that ‘they’ will respond with a nuclear attack to the attack from Earth.
1987 September 5 Berlin:
They find out that Hitler’s corpse has been one of his doubles who has committed suicide in the place of him.
1989 July 7:
The president of the Soviet Communist Party, Gorbacsov asks the allies to help him keeping the Soviet Union together just like in 1956 or in 1968 or else he will announce ‘their’ existence. The allied point out that the propaganda has made ‘their’ existence ridiculous so if he’d announce that he would end up in a mental hospital.
1990 May 17 Mars Olympus Mons:
The last man dies of the Lowell Expedition. An unknown virus kills them. The suggested German camp is not found.
2002 February 15:
A secret report that has been written in Deadwood states that the chances of winning this war is not higher than in 1945 and the only question is that why have ‘they’ not conquered Earth. President Bush suggests that they should devise a catastrophe plan, but the expert’s opinion is that the exodus would be only a waste of resources as mankind would be in the same situation on the Moon or on Mars as here on Earth.

I've seen this picture, too, or at least something very similar to it, long before it crossed your desk.
In my eyes, it looks very much like the Torumekian armored corvette used by Kushana's personal guard during the Acid Lakes and Dorok Borderlands military campaigns in the early stages of the epic 1,000+ page manga, Nausicaa of the Valley of Wind, before being destroyed in a castle seige around page 355.
