Worlds & Monsters -- I has it, too!

Similar backstory, so sure.

They were one of the things I kinda liked from the Fiend Folio, but I wanted to see better execution for their mechanics.

Funny... in the thread about the Year of the Ageless One, I offered that connection as well. At first I thought it was a sure thing, but after a little discussion, I'm not so sure. But that's because I don't know enough about the shades. Definitely very similar... similar enough that they could be a cut-and-replace.

Is there anything on the Dark Ones (Dark Stalkers and Dark Creepers originally introduced in the 1e Fiend Folio) besides a mention that they live in Feywild?

I'd like to know what distinguishes them from Shadar-Kai, Humans and Halflings.

Haha whoops I thought the were the same thing......better dust up on my realsmslore for the first 4E campaign world!
Or maybe with the spellplague I don't need to learn anything that has gone b4!

Still, name aside (and it does not really bother me that much), I like what RS has said about the S-K as baddies.
Mhensley has a point that it is probably some designers pet monster/bad guys; that is the same in every new setting/edition we always get a new trendy type of bad guys...you either like 'em or you don't

Anything interesting on Devils? Their new fluff, etc?

Anything about how one gets around in Elemental Chaos? It's all the ellements rolled together, but is it big chunks or like Limbo. If it's big chunks, do they talk about getting from one chunk to the next?

"Raven Queen"? That's the beat they could think up for a death goddess.

It would be hard to come up with one better. Ravens have been a symbol of death, mystery and darkness, etc for a long long time. It's meant to resonate with that idea, and one that exists extensively in modern and classic fantasy.

The hydra concept has no limbs... four heads join into a body that tapers to a tail. No arms, legs, flippers, wings,
Yay! :D

Aww, I liked Dino body hydra, especially the 3E one.

Was there any mention of what they've done with orcs? We've had both the LotR's movies and WoW since the time 3E was first released. Plus in the latest Drizzt novel they were trying to take orcs in a whole new direction.

I'm very curious to see how these new strong influences regarding orcs have changed our tusky monsters.
Lets hope 4E leaves well enough alone.

Yep---the name is very evocative.

Then again, I applaud any departure from the utterdork of 'zuggtmoys' and 'iggwilvs'.
