Sersei and Shalimar felt the other embrace saidar; to anyone who did not know they could channel, the sight of two young women -- little more than girls -- staring down a trolloc would have seemed crazy, if not suicidal. They weren't Aiel. Ashrem felt goose bumps run down his sleeve. No surprise, that. He was confident, but that thing was huge. In an instant, Yuri had crossed the room to meet the Trolloc. His sword flashed, nicking the creature through chinks in its armor. Perhaps not the cleanest strike, but he had drawn blood <4 points of damage>. Ashrem moved to flank the beast, his Ebou Dari rapier extended. But the thing moved surprisingly well for something its size, and was not able to score a hit. A small flame appeared at the Trolloc's feet, but the Trolloc managed to step out of the worst of it <1 point of damage>. That flame had come out of nowhere. Someone was using the One Power. Behind the trolloc that blocked the hole in the wall, one of the beasts turned and ran, carrying something over its shoulder. Pedron's knife had flown out of his hand before he truly noticed the others, but it did not fly true, crashing against the wall. With any luck, the Trolloc would concentrate on the Borderlander. It did; the massive, scythe-like sword came very near to striking Yuri before a hasty parry blocked the attack. Yuri might not be a grizzled veteran of fighting along the blightborder, but he was no stranger to fighting trollocs. He knew how much that sword would hurt if it managed to connect, and he wanted no part of that. Lord Tomas added a third blade to face the creature, this one striking more cleanly than his new-found friends' blades had <8 points of damage>. All he had was precision; Tomoas would hardly admit he was not all that strong, but he knew it was true. Still, it seemed he had been lucky. Trollocs were children's tales, he'd thought, but this children's tale didn't seem to believe it. The third trolloc broke into a run at that, leaving the injured trolloc to hold the door. The remaining Trolloc recoiled when a globe of light appeared right by it, out of nowhere. Two people channeling? Light, it had better be the women, but even so... That hasty recoil let Yuri's sword connect again. This time it struck true, and this time, the trolloc fell to the ground, dead...
