WoT channeling vs Vancian?

Quick question.

For those of you who have a better feel for it, how does WoT's channeling stack up next to Vancian, power wise? Close enough that the two could co-exist alongside each other with no real balance issues, or...?

The actual "spells" of the channelling system are weak compared to standard 3e fare.... but they can exist side by side. I think the Channeler makes a better Sorcerer than the actual class does.

Channeler's can do 5 or so dice many times.... Casters can do truck loads more and nigh as often.

But the other skills (Weave Tieing) make up for much of the difference.

Toe to Toe I'd vote on Vancian (destructive) magics over WOT... so if you convert some likely spells over I think you'll have a working system.
