Thanks RW. That explains everything, I think. During the conversion, "incorporeal" was switched to the substantial state. And "corporeal" was switched to insubstantial. But the effect of the Song remained the same: it forces creatures into substantial/corporeal form. So obviously it creates this weird confusion where some of the tactics seem to imply that the Song would reveal Madness for who she is, while the actual mechanics, which were converted, no longer have that truth-revealing flavor (which it sounds like 3.5 had).
