War began with the New Year as the Ragesian Army assaulted the city of Gate Pass. Now, as the heroes return to where their quest began, the local rebellion rallies to their cause, battling in the streets as they defiantly celebrate a long-delayed holiday.

But Ragesia has far stranger minions than mere soldiers and beasts. Sleeping horrors strain to pass through to the world of flesh, and though victory in Gate Pass is near, the heroes will find their desires turned to nightmares in the Festival of Dreams.

Welcome to the ninth adventure in the War of the Burning Sky Campaign Saga. Throughout the course of the campaign saga, a party of heroes will become involved in an escalating war between mighty magical nations, and after many adventures, military battles, and mysterious intrigue, it will be up to them to decide who will emerge victorious and rule in the aftermath.

The Festival of Dreams is the ninth adventure in the 12-part War of the Burning Sky Campaign Saga; for character levels 23-24 (D&D 4E) or 16th level (D&D 3.5).

How so? We always love to hear details.

I haven't run it, but from the read-through I [em]love[/em] the multi-part colossus fight in the 4e version.

The shorter length is also a plus--some of the earlier modules (particularly 4e Fire Forest) had stuff that felt like filler; this one seems to be action-packed and relevant from beginning to end.

I just noticed, the colossus is listed as being a total of 4 squares high, which is rather shorter than the 90 ft. of the 3.5 version, but I suppose it works mechanically for a game.

Yeah, mechanically he's ultimately pretty short, but it was the only way to fit things. He's still gargantuan over all, and actually a little bigger given his arm and torch also each take up a large space. Also, he can be played up as larger since the party has ways to reach up that far anyway.

As to harder, I think I would have been better placed as saying more complex. The challenge is still about right for the levels. The story itself is so much fun to go through that the encounters just kinda write themselves, really.

I was planning on playing him as truly colossal (with his head perhaps 10-20 squares up) and just putting tokens for his extremities on the map. Maybe that's what you had in mind anyway. And then for the part where everyone
grows to supersize
, I thought I'd use custom 5x5 tokens, just for the cool factor. Heh. :-)

I'm really looking forward to that fight.
