Henry: Actually, from *everything*... I have heard, Star Wars RPG is not only meeting their expectations, but FAR exceeding them. Star Wars RPG is doing quite well for WotC.

That's surprising, and also very good to know. From a personal perspective, locally Star Wars sells about a tenth of what D&D products sell, so the average may be very different nationally and internationally.

Hmm.

For every upside in business, there is a downside.

In case you haven't checked GamingReport.com web page (IMHO, the daily "e-news" for gamers like me), you should read the article regarding Wizards of the Coast losing the Pokemon license after the two releases.

Oh, well. It has to come to an end sometime (finally!).

I'd imagine that WotC will breathe a sigh of relief over the loss of this license. Pokemon's day is long over. Let some other bunch of suckers have the leavings.

Which is why their "proposal was fair and appropriate" and in turn rejected. The explosion of a fad product, and its whimpering aftermath give the creators a skewed sense of the value of their product. I am glad WOTC didn't throw good money after bad.

As a recovering M:TG addict, its a lesson I wish i would have learned _before_ Fallen Empires, but that is an old story ;)

I'm skeptical. Partly because I have not heard if Wizards have ordered up a second printing run of the Star Wars RCR.

That same skepticism applies to Wizards' SW TCG sales.

REG: There *has* been a 2nd printing of the Star Wars rulebooks.

While the inside cover still says 1st printing: May 2002, that is a mistake.

They doubled all starship DRs. They fixed probably a dozen or so errors, fixed the stat blocks to be better mechanically (Obi-Wan previously not being able to meet the requirements for his PrC and what not).

Go to your bookstore and check it out yourself. If you don't see any (becuase it is pretty new), have them order you one, and flip through it: they have indeed already made a 2nd printing.

Considering the 1st printing was *not* riddled with mass errors and what not, 9 months for a second printing for a game (that is not D&D) is VERY fast - more proof the game is selling very well.

It's bad enough they mislabeled the second printing of Sword and Fist. But to show up on a hardcover core rulebook is nearly unforgivable. :(

Funny, they should have posted Revised Core Rulebook errata showing correction that would appear in the second printing. Did Wizards change their errata policy regarding RPG?

Anyhoo, thanks for the heads up. Unfortunately, my gaming fund have been shifted to the upcoming B5 rulebook.
