WOTC contradicts themselves with their new DDB statement

From the statement today:
"Driving these goals were two simple principles: (1) Our job is to be good stewards of the game, and (2) the OGL exists for the benefit of the fans. Nothing about those principles has wavered for a second."

From the text in the OGL 1.1 leak:
"[The original OGL] wasn’t intended to subsidize major competitors, especially now that PDF is by far the most common form of distribution.”

These statements contradict each other, the one today saying it was all about the fans while the leak clearly shows it was about losing $$$ to the competition.

This does not contradict that. Only the largest companies would have been affected by the original OGL 1.1

you skipped this line

And third, we wanted to ensure that the OGL is for the content creator, the homebrewer, the aspiring designer, our players, and the community—not major corporations to use for their own commercial and promotional purpose.
Now it's a bit ironic coming from wizards who are themselves a big company.

It does. They claimed they did it for the fans, but in the OGL they said they did it because the OGL was not meant to subsidize competitors.

The latter has nothing to do with the former. WOTC subsidizing competitors does not hurt fans at all.

Its not a contradiction, its simply them being caught in a lie. They will continue to do this now, as their 'response' just builds upon the deception.

Its now getting late, the week has been long, and Wizards has gotten tiresome. They are fake. They are false. Their statements are simply not true, and their intentions are now obvious.

Its depressing.

Both things can be true.
