Hmm. It totally upstages the half-orc. Are there half-orcs on Krynn?

Half-Orc: +2 Str, -2 Int, -2 Cha, darkvision, Orc blood
Minotaur: +4 Str, -2 Dex, -2 Int, -2 Cha, natural armor +2, gore attack, +2 to Intimidate, Swim, and Use Rope, can take Scent as a feat

I could be very wrong, but IIRC, I don't think there are any orcs on Krynn period. Draconians seemed to take their place for the most part.

Best,

IMHO, it looks like the minotaur is the replacement for the "half-orc" race option in Dragonlance campaign. With no ECL, I don't know. This is not the minotaur I have envisioned for Krynn.

Traditionally, there are no orcs or half-orcs on Krynn. There are no drow or halflings either. You can check the Tales of the Lance box set or the 1e Dragonlance Adventures Hardback.

It's not quite what I envisioned for the Minotaur race of Krynn either. Somehow, the Dex penalty doesn't fit with the idea of the seafaring race.

I'll wait to see the rest of the book before saying anything further.

This makey-no sense!

I've always had a problem trying to visualize a bovine-people who were at home with the sea... Don't their massive horns and cloven hooves make a teetering ship, strewn with ropes and junk, a little dangerous? Especially when you factor in their apparent lack of dexterity.

"How horrible were the moos of death as yon ancient mariner had to listen to his comrades of beefy ability instead become able cutlets of beef."

A powerful race of at least ECL +2.

As for difficulty visualizing minotaurs aboard sailing ships, it's a lot easier if you reference big tall scandinavian vikings to them folks.

Like in the movie, The 13th Warrior. :p

It fits with the idea of a seafaring race of large men with bull heads. The minotaurs of Krynn were never depicted as being particularly light on their feet, and were certainly not as dexterous as their human counterparts.

I am surprised they didn't get a Con bonus, however.
