WotC mini singles in the SF Bay Area?

Has anyone found a shop in the Bay Area selling singles of the new WotC miniatures yet? None of my regular haunts have them. Are most people buying online?

Legends in Vallco ( Cupertino ) is selling some singles now. You should give the secondary market a little more time to develop - I'm sure stores will have much more singles in the coming months, as more collectors get closer to getting their fill.

Ok, thanks. Legends is a bit out of my way, but I am tempted to run down there at lunch. ;-)

I'm not so sure of this, I actually am seeing fewer stores carrying MK stuff lately and I suspect that the owners lump the WotC game in that same category. I suppose there is a "shelf space v. expected return" issue to be dealt with. Legends is in a bit of a unique spot with really more store space than merchandise due to their expansion.

Regardless, I do hope the game succeeds well enough to form a secondary market; if only for selfish reasons.

I made it down to Legends, but they had no rares and just a handful of uncommons -- and none of the commons I wanted multiples of. :-(

Can anyone recommend an online place? I found the Card Vault through Google, but that was the only one. I seem to recall something else being recommended early on when the minis first came out.

I bought mine through http://www.usacomicbooks.com

I've also seen people recommend http://www.frpgames.com

You might want to try some of the larger game stores (like Gamescape in Palo Alto) and see if they have any organized events going on where people might want to trade or sell singles.

If not, I suggest waiting.

One of two things will happen:

1.) These WotC figures will be a hit and we'll see various places on the net selling singles at prices roughly around those of Mage Knight Singles (commons less than a dollar, uncommons around a dollar, rares between 2 and 10 dollars).

2.) The figures will fail and they'll start dumping the packs in huge 'blowout sales' where you'll be able to pick up unopened packs at 1/3 the retail price (liek the Chainmail blowouts).

Either way, patience is the virtue to pay attention to right now.

For some reason, that thread title makes me think of personal ads...
