The file size for B1 on the new system (5.7Mb) is different from the file size of the B1 PDF that was originally scanned and sold (8.6Mb), so my suspicion is that these are indeed new scans of the source material.

Yay! We can finally move on from threads every two months complaining that WotC is leaving money on the table by not releasing PDFs of their old products... to threads every two months complaining that WotC is leaving money on the table by not releasing PDFs of specific old products they wanted to buy! Or products that they find are too expensive or not scanned well for PDF!

I always found it to be patently ridiculous that WOTC did not sell PDFs for the vast majority of their products. It was even worse that when they did there were more strings attached to them than a marionette and they were expensive. I realize there are costs involved in regards to storing and transferring the data, but these costs are significantly lower than the costs involved in traditional book production. There's a reason Pathfinder PDFs sell for 2/3rds to 1/2 the price of the book.

I'm shocked. I thought they would never bring the PDFs back, and I'll be absolutely floored if they've rescanned everything with better scans. Colored me tickled pink.
Hmm, I wonder if those of us who bought the old versions will have access to the new ones or will have to rebuy them. Urgh, the latter's not a particularlly pleasing thought - I bought a bunch of them...
