My biggest problem is the audio format. Not every mp3 player can play the m4a format. This doesn't bode well in my book. IMO, it indicates that the powers behind this podcast are not "in the know."
No, it shows that they are. iPods and iTunes dominate the market. (I download via Juice, myself.) For podcasts, MP3s are like the videocassettes sitting in the Blockbuster beside the DVDs -- there for the old folks who haven't yet upgraded to DVD or especially to Netflix.

Anyway, I applaud WotC for getting on the cutting edge of 2005! :p

Glad to hear that people liked the podcast so far. We're definitely learning as we go along. I can't say much about what we'll do in future installments, since we still have to meet and talk about it, but I had lots of fun in the first show. I made a point to listen to it and try to figure out how I can make myself clearer.

As for when the volume level dropped, that was probably just me not getting close enough to the microphone. :)

I liked the comment about SO much stuff to do at GenCon and not enough time. That was SO how I felt!

I think you're doing just fine and that it will just get better and easier as you go. Do some tests and set the mic levels so that you can sit comfortably and even move side to side and back a bit without too much of a drop. You never want to need to lean into a mic because leaning forward constrains your diaphragm. These might be useful quick reads, if you're interested -

Keep up the good work! :)

We do a podcast at work, and I definitely agree that time is the key ingredient. You guys will become more comfortable with the process, you'll get more relaxed and natural and you'll come up with more ideas of what to do with the time.

I listen to podcasts all day at work and am happy to see more people jumping into the arena.

So, what is the great idea that changed the tiles use? I can't listen to the podcast right now :(

Using D6s to elevate the titles and add a bit of 3-dimensional perspective to a room we were exploring.
