The drow book looks decent on first blush, although I'm worried it's going to stay too close to the traditional canon. Not all drow worship Lolth -- heck, the very first ones ever to appear in AD&D didn't! -- and the spider stuff could frankly use a break.

I'd love to see some Kiaranselite drow. Heck more material on Kiaranselee, or her original world of Threnody would be awesome and a nice move away from spiders-going-to-eleven drow. :)

A WotC article linking to not only RPGNow but Wikipedia, that's unusual isn't it? It seems like normally Wizards don't like to admit there are other websites on the internet.

I'm dubious about this--the first book on a sub-race. I mean, the material looks somewhat interesting, but isn't this more like a Races of book?

That being said, I'm really looking for Ruins of the Wild. I may have to get Complete Champion, too.

All I can say about Forge of War is they had better not narrow down the theories of what caused the Mourning. It should be as open-ended as possible.

I will be picking up The Sinister Spire since The Barrow of the Forgotten King was quite nice. Hopefully it will make Underdark adventuring simple.

No, it is described as being in the monster series (Draco, Lords of Madness, Libris Mortis, FC I, FC II). I hope it is done right. I love that series.

Does it make me a fanboy if I get more and more excited about Drow of the Underdark the more I hear about it? :)

All of the creature books have been good to excellent so far. Here's hoping the trend continues!

I mean based on the content, not by the description.

I'm really disappointed not to see some stuff from Complete Champion. Guess I'll have to wait till next month to find out :\
