I guess that people are buying them. Its an interesting turn...I can't help but wonder if they'll release the old splats in PDF. Or any other older books, for that matter.

Could this represent a start of putting out all or most of the previous releases in PDF after a certain point?

If that point is when a product has sold out and they don't intend to reprint it, I'd wonder what they have to lose.

If that's the case then really nothing to loose. They aren't seeling any more of it in print might as well try to make a little extra captial with selling it PDF style.

This is absolutely fantastic news. It's great for those people who are just coming into the game, and want the older books. (And they're not scans, either!)

This will be really great if the setting sourcebooks are added.

Cheers!

Those demigods could stand to lose a few pounds.

You might want to explain your joke as people who can't spell won't get it... and I presume you're aiming this little barb at them....

On-topic, let's hope the pricing is better than we have seen for the first releaases!

Except that unlike their older ESD program for out of print materials these files are DRM protected license only deals instead of full ownership and are full cover price instead of significantly reduced prices. And that is for a non 3.5 product. I loved their ESD program and have bought dozens of them. Since they originally said they would eventually continue their ESD program when 3e products went out of print I'm sure you can see why I'm not rejoicing at this full price limited ownership opportunity they now present.

I don't see getting these unless things change significantly.

And particularly not for DDG which I ordered at 30% off and ended up exchanging it for credit because I was so disappointed in it for its price and content compared to what I already had.

I noticed it is listed as a DRM protected PDF. Wonder why it isn't watermarked.

Well, not all companies have switched to watermarking yet, and some are listed as in the process of converting (there's a list of companies scheduled to convert on DTRPG's front page.)

WotC has not yet announced plans to convert to watermarking, though that may be cause it takes them longer to decide something like this.
