Ok, so here it is. I know everyone and their brother has their own Char sheet, but I just wanted a WoTC-like char sheet, that didn't suck so I came up with this.
The front design was based on these changes from the WoTC sheet:
1. The attack workspace on the front of WoTC is crap, pretty much a complete waste of space for all the detail in the current powers.
2. The Features and Feats spaces were good, but too much space would be wasted for someone who didn't need all that for features.
3. The rest of the front was great.
The back of the WoTC sheet was either a mishmash of all the things people *might* need or a wholly inadequate listing of powers and/or special items/abilities.
So the front of this sheet is all the admin stuff. Stuff you'll be needing when you want a non-combat overview of the character. Skill checks, feats and listed features along with important Magic items and equipment. The Rituals header can also be inserted in there if needed, and for that matter any of the headers ould be moved to acomodate more or less in a particular section.
The back of the sheet is where we get down to bussiness. It has all the powers and should replace the need for power cards, and take up less table space while being used. All the ability checks and major combat data is present as well as powers listed as they are seen in the PHB, but with the numbers calculated from the values on the front. The formulas also reference named cells on the front, so you'll see "StrCheck+PriWeapAtt" in the formula for the weapon attack powers.
On the surface you just get the bottom line - What's the attack? What's the effect? What's the damage?
The powers also have little check boxes for usage, though our group uses plastic covers and wet erase or grease pencils. (I recommend the grease pencils).
When you level up all you need to do is change your level, add your powers and change any attributes you raised. The formulas should calculate all lyour stats, abilities, attacks and damage if you follow the template.
I hope you guys like it.
