The preview of the FRCS is very interesting, it includes a start-up adventure, a dm toolbox and chapters covering magic, the cosmology and pantheon.
The glossary is intriguing also;
earthmote: A floating chunk of landscape hanging in the sky
earth node: A place where magical power is concentrated
Faerie: another name for the Feywild
Returned Abeir: The continent that was fused to Toril west of the Trackless Sea
Weave, the: A term for magic; once used to mean magic mediated by Mystra

Nice to see 4 minis in the preview.

I think WotC still need to work on their editing though. The article talks about Thunderspire Mountain and then shows the cover of the adventure which reads Thunderspire Labyrinth.

Judging from the product page it looks like it is called Thunderspire Labyrinth.

As for releasing the DM Screen and the Character Record Sheets a month after the rulebooks, I think it is to make things easier on the brick and mortar stores from a cash flow perspective. It costs brick and mortar stores a fair chunk of cash to get their initial stock of the core rulebooks. They don't get to see any money come back in from that until a month or two later, when they actually start selling the core rulebooks. In fact, I believe that was why the 3 core books weren't originally planned to be released in 1 hit.

By holding back DM screens and character record sheets for a month it just makes things a little easier for the retailers.

Not only that but they've also used the old placeholder cover for the FRCG, even though the new one (which thankfully does not have Drizzt on it) was revealed some time ago.
