If I remember correctly, they had a scheduled downtime announced on their boards, can be that that includes the site itself.

Hum, according to Netcraft, they have been running IIS 6.0 on Windows 2003 server since Aug of 2004. The last reboot is reported as being 19 days ago.

Perhaps they are having a recurring blue screen of death problem? I hope not. And I hope they don't have to take the servers down every 20 days or so for maintenance.
