WotC weekend promo

Having never played it, I signed up to get one- but just realized I had never received it, did anyone else??

I know that I had signed up, and did end up receiving mine some time later. So not sure what might have happened to yours.

I definitely am impressed with the promo, though I probably won't get the chance to take advantage of it myself.

I called a couple hours ago to make sure the store where I was going was participating (they were listed on the site, but it's a 20-30 minute drive, so I figured I'd make sure), and they were. Then I got there and went to check out, and asked for the 'free gift', and they didn't know what I was talking about. They went through two or three employees before the guy was like "yeah, I forgot that was starting today." Then he opened the box of 'free gifts' to pull mine out; apparently I was the first one.

I also asked about Level Up while I was there, but apparently they still don't want to order it

Yeah, same here. A pack of the new minis and a pack of Demonweb is a pretty good deal.

The new hippogriff is actually a pretty sweet figure. I like the blue highlights on the wingtips.

yeah, if there was something i was going to buy, i'd be taking advantage of this to get minis that i could give to my dm (he collects them, i do not - and the guy does so much for the group each session i see no reason not to give him the free gift :-D )

but, since there isn't anything i am looking to buy (i have to watch my spending these days so i can't give in to temptation of pure impulse buying), i don't have anything to buy this weekend that could take advantage of the offer.

(That's what i get for buying what i want when it comes out rather than waiting! )

But, yeah, WotC (if you're watching), this is/was a nice promo offer ... good to get people to 'taste' a little of something they wouldn't otherwise buy, or get more involved in something they already are in to
