Would Baldur's Gate Mini's be Possible?

I don't know much about Star Wars Minis, but at my Friendly Local Gaming Store today I noticed a box of minis featuring characters from the Knights of the Old Republic video games.

That got me thinking: do the liscensing agreement for D&D video games allow them to make minis of the characters from those games?

I for once would love to see a Minsc figure.

There are D&D minis out there that Wizards is doing. If you find a bald human figure wearing plate armor and wielding a two-handed sword, call it Minsc and have done.

The CotF minis for Star Wars are part of the compilation of characters for the Star Wars miniatures game. Those minis aren't just from the KotOR series, but they cover just about all the different Star Wars products, from the comics to the novels to the video games to the original movies to the clone wars cartoons.

While it might be nice to have "Baldur's Gate" characters in a D&D minis release, there aren't enough of them to justify a miniatures expansion.

I am pretty sure the rights to make BG minis remains with WotC. IP arising from the computer games accretes to the benefit of the licensor under the original Interplay license.

I'm sure they could (and will, eventually) make some DDM featuring old favorites from Infinity Engine games. NWN henchpersons were a lot less... memorable.

While it might be nice to have "Baldur's Gate" characters in a D&D minis release, there aren't enough of them to justify a miniatures expansion.

Everything doesn't need to be an expansion. A single boxed set (or two) featuring the BG characters would work fine and, frankly, would be a good way to expand the minis line to people who aren't normally interested in them.

I am still waiting on the enevitable OotS mini series. They should be easy sculpts.

But that one doesn't come with a miniature giant space hamster !

Anyway, the game is too old. I suppose the number of potential customers is too small nowadays.

I would get those. I have a special fondness for BG and its characters, PCs and NPCs.

Would it be physically possible? Sure. Would it happen? Not sure, but I'd like it.

Minsc and Irenicus are about the only ones from BG2 that I would want to buy.

Sarevok too! I have an anti-paladin from Reaper that could fit the character, though.
