Would the D&D brand manager please stand up.

Oh well in that case can he explain why D&D Miniatures are still so expensive over here (that it's cheaper to import independently from the US) when the dollar is so weak compared to the pound?
As foreigner in the UK, I'd say, it's just... well, the pound. *Everything* is expensive compared to €-prices in the UK, this seemingly also affects D&D-Miniatures.

I don't really have any comments on what Wizards is or isn't doing with new products or Paizo stuff, but it does seem like WotC is a lot less involved on these forums than they were a few years ago.

It seemed like we had a lot more contact with the folks in both the design and business side of things back then. Maybe this is just a function of more work and fewer people at Wizards, but I do miss the way things used to be (or the way I recall how things were).

Keep in mind that, while EN World is a major D&D board, it isn't the official WotC board. While I think it's probably a good idea for anyone working on the business to at least occasionally browse both this board and the WotC board, it's likely not part of their job description, and those who do post here likely do so, at least in part, on their own time.

It's not official but we can actually talk about Wizards of the Coast novels (!) AND we have a search function. ;)

Anyway, it certainly isn't something I'd expect a WotC employee be required to do, but it would be a shame if the company didn't even bother to keep an eye on the largest unoffical message board for one of their biggest products.

Maybe there's company policy or legal reasons (NDA's), etc. why we don't see as much participation as there was during the Anthony V. and Ryan Dancey days.

Or there may be fewer people there now then back in the day...

Maybe (as Charles says above) they really don't have the time.

I think Winter Fantasy (now the D&D Experience) con coming up next month will reveal a lot. We'll have to wait and see.

Thanks for the reminder :) Still can't decide how much we like Unhallowed based on the previews to date, and hence whether we need to get 3 or 4 cases between our group, but I do know that baring a mircale we'll be ordering from the US (possibly via eBay) rather than via any UK based retailer.

Yeah, D&D was a complete failure. What were they thinking? And then 3.5 - huge failure; nobody bought it. And as for M:tG - what a flop that was! That d20/OGL initiative? Shame nobody was interested... Licensing the magazines to Paizo, who then produced those three terribly unpopular Adventure Paths- what a mistake!

Criticise WotC's products all you want - you don't have to like them - but claiming they've "failed" is pretty funny. :)

Glad Morrus said this (and so much more politely than I would have) :p

I'll note you can currently talk about WotC novels on their forum as well (at least the Eberron forum).

Sad to see WotC not answer their customers and simply scheme to make more money...yet their schemes always fail.
They should never have handed the reigns of the company over to Scrooge McDuck...
