Do not mock the dungeon, lest you get lost within its labyrinthians ways.

I could be wrong (and I think it'd be amusing if I was so I'm not going to bother looking this up), but I believe the adjective meaning "like a labyrinth" is "labyrinthine."

Oh, who am I kidding, I can't post something like that without looking it up first, and it appears either spelling is acceptable.

So... Yeah, I don't really have anything to add to this thread, but since this thread doesn't appear to be about anything, I'm going to consider myself on-topic.

Labyrinthians? Isn't that one of those Apocryphal scriptures? ;)

"Yea, and did Regdar the fighter and Mialee the Wizard enter unto the Caverns of Madness, and they did go down into it, and did brave its fearsome depths.

"And unto the dragon did they delve, and did slay him with threescore arrows and magic missile; and the number of greatswords broken was one, and the number of scrolls used were seven.

"And much loot did they haul unto Greyhawk, and happy they were, until the next week's session."

Welcome to ENWorld, dungeon. While I agree with some of the above posters about generally preferring posts where (more or less) proper gramar is used, please take this as a friendly suggestion and not as a personal attack.

Absolutely true! I meant no harm to dungeon, which I am sure, is a good and bright person. It’s a classic case of I needed to hit someone and dungeon was standing in front of me.
My rant was aimed more at the increasing trend of people intentionally using miss-spelled words and making no attempt at punctuation or grammar. If I had to hand write any of my comments I’d be ridiculed for my obscene spelling and writing skills, luckily we have a thing called spell check, which adds about 20 seconds to my post time and keeps my posts neat and tidy.

Hey, at least when someone says 'u' its readable and you understand what they're saying. I've seen so many worse threads it's just plain sad. One person had a problem with periods...man, that was hard to read. Other people take 1337 speak WAY too far...

Although I do find it weird that dungeon put periods at the ends of his sentences, but none of the beginning letters are capitalized, although neither is his name. :D

Why can't people take the time to spell, despite what you kids today think illiteracy is NOT cool!
Take two extra seconds and use word to spell check- use those nifty phonics skills they taught you in 1st grade.
Here here!

One reason I really enjoy ENWorld over most other internet forums is that the posters are generally polite enough and reasonable enough to avoid butchery of the language like on many forums. One of the many reasons I don't visit the WotC boards anymore is the proliferation of poor spelling and worse grammar. "Leetspeek" and chat shorthand first created to save time when you're typing on an IRC channel are pointless when you have time to carefully consider a message board post.

In my experience, if you want your posts to be taken seriously in most forums, proper spelling, capitolization, or at least honest attempts at it go a very long way. There are still many of us who cringe at "rouge" instead of "rogue".

It's good to know I'm not alone on this.

dungeon, please don't take this as a personal insult, it's just that I (and many other people here I think) do value proper English, so as a friendly tip: spelling, grammar, punctuation and capitolization go a long way here.

Anyone remember Bill Door? He is the only poster that could type in a weird yet still entertaining way. I miss Bill Door. He gave me the creeps.

I'd like to hear from dungeon about his game group -- how does a 15-year old get into D&D these days? Annoying spelling aside, I think it's great that he's posting here -- rock on, dude! (That's a sample of the way we spoke back in the day that drove our elders and betters crazy).
