Would you get a 4th edition?

6 years? Easy. Just skip the new edition coming out in 3 years, and get only the one after it, in 6 years.

Thats what I am doing with 3E to 4E. Should be about 6 years. Will I buy 4E then? depends on whether I hate the new rules as much as I hate the ones in 3.5.

I would probably update to 4th edition, so long as
1) The sneak-peaks make it look like a 'good' change
2) Its not released before 2008. I expect to get a good 5 years out of my 3.5 books.

Bear in mind that the original poser used the word instead. Everyone complaining about wanting life out of their 3.5 books should bear in mind that there are no 3.5 books in this scenario.

That said, I'd like to see 4e in about 2006/2007. Ten years between editions is too long to wait, especially if you're having to put up with the possibility of an edition of crap, like 2e (IMO, of course, and YMMV). If they repeat that all over again, I want to wait as little time as possible for 5e.
