Would you pay for storyhour updates?

No.

I like some storyhours so much, that I'd like to pay for them, but it's not practical. I'd like to buy pdf:s and mp3:s but I haven't got many of them I'd really liked to, because paying from Finland is too hard, and sometimes impossible. I don't own credit card, I can have my friends to pay my shopping with their credit card, if they can trust the place. And PayPal doesn't get their trust. Until paying ways improves I don't think I could. There are very many people like me.

Another thing is, that people create these stories for fun and not as work. When it becomes work, quality probably goes down, because people feel pressed to write even without any sort of inspiration. Hey, they have customer base now, not fans.

Edited for errors, printed and bound version of my favourite story hours, with some nice cover and maybe some extras (like art and map, game statics maybe) sounds much better.

I like paying for complite work however. And they should be reachable to one of my local shops too.

If someone wrote something that was subsequently properly (and legally) published, I'd definitely pick up a copy or two. It's the least we could do for a fellow EN Worlder. ;)

Interesting. As I figured, there are people willing to give up their first born for a Sep or Destan update. :)

But, it seems that an edited, and complete stroyhour would be a viable option for some, especially if it was packaged nicely.

It's too bad we couldn't throw together a "best of EnWorld", but all the icky OGL problems would certainly get in the way.

I would pay for a completed version of spyscribe's Welcome to the Halmae. I much prefer reading things on paper than digitally, and I think it's worthy of publication. Particularly if the sidebars and graphics and all are included.

I'd happily pay for updates to Sepulchrave's story hour (at least, for reasonably-sized updates; even for Sep, there's no way I'd pay $1 each time for just a few paragraphs). If such a system were established, I hope it would be a pay-per-update one that wouldn't use PayPal.
