Would you "subscribe" to D&D?

Well I don't like the ideas of any subscription really. Perhaps I wouldn't subscribe even if it was 75% OFF, because anyway I'm not going to use more than 10-15% of those books probably... I prefer to pick my purchases one by one.

Not a chance. Even with a discount that would most likely just cover shipping. So you're still pay pretty much full price, and quite frankly, I don't want all of their releases.

Now that isn't a crack against WoTC, but I don't play in the realms and haven't bought a realms related book in years. As for the MM's, Ive skipped the last couple, I have five already, I really don't need more. :\

So, no, a subscription to recieve all the books just doesn't do it for me. Now a subscription to recieve a monthly periodical that was delivered to my house covering a vast array of differant gaming material could interest me. Oh, wait ....

I'm wondering what the cost is going to be for D&D Insider.

Of course, if it only launches with 4E, then I may not check it out at all.

H-E-double-hockey-sticks NO.

I want a subscription that provides lasting material value, that doesn't disappear when I stop paying. That's why I don't do the MMORPG thing.

(Though I'm apparently a hypocrite, since I do pay a monthly fee to phone, cable, internet, electricity, water ... and those benefits all disappear when you stop paying.)

Edit: Whoops, I misunderstood the original post. I was thinking of the digital version of D&D with the online content.

I might actually subscribe to a book service ... but only if I could opt in/out of individual books. I don't need everything.

I like the idea of getting excited about a book before going out and buying it. I don't want them to just come automatically if I'm not interested. Let the consumer make some choices.

No way I would subscribe.

I would not do this, my interest in RPGaming notwithstanding.

The main reason is that I houserule enough of my own setting elements that I am more than happy with Core materials, and anything I can come up with that works with those Core materials.
