Steeliest of the dragons
So, in addition to the ranger and fighter (and possible Witch) class/subclass stuff, there's been a lot of rogue stuff getting thrown around.
I, on a personal note, need (well, "want" in hopes I would someday/soon "need") a 5e conversion of my World of Orea Acrobat roguish archetype.
Also, a Swashbuckler seems prudent. I don't necessarily use them, but they seem popular enough and I found the UA one, as it read, to be very imbalanced with a) Other subclasses and b) completely out of whack for the style of play I prefer. So a reqrite/rework of that seems in order.
I would propose, at least as they exist/fit into my campaign world, an "Avenger" -kind of holy/sanctioned by a religion acrobat/assassin (you know the assassin's creed type) maybe with some divine magic to give a divine treatment to the Arcane Trickster Vibe.
Other than those and what we already have, what Rogue archetypes do you think warrant the subclass treatment? Or are "Thief, Assassin, Arcane Trickster, Acrobat, Swashbuckler, "Avenger" cover all of the "biggies"?
Artificer, I would submit, requires its own class/subclass structure (as "Witch" doesn't really go beneath the Wizard or Sorcerer treatment, "Artificer" doesn't really fit a "Rogue" type, but should have a "Rogue-type of artificer" as a choice within its own class structure (along with a "Magic type" and a "Martial type" I would say.) So, I personally wouldn't place Artificer among the Rogue subclasses, though I've seen posters who think it should go there.
So, well, what do you think? What are your "rogue" archetypes that aren't supported or doable through existing classes/subclasses/backgrounds...please refrain from "if you Multiclass...if you Feats..." Those are options and should not [or, "will not", by me] be taken into account for the purposes of class/subclass creation or balance.
