Or they were actually amateurs, folks who wanted to combine their own free-spirited exhibitionism with their love of gaming. C'mon, fellas, let's not cast too many stones, here.

For the record, I never used it. Didn't fit with my game, and in the few adult situations that did appear in my game, I found that the addition of hard-and-fast (er, so to speak) rules took away from the fun.

In an erotic intrigue game, it could definitely come in handy, but that's not a game I'm running at the moment.

I would tend to agree about the art. While it is somewhat ego boosting that all the women I've seen naked in real life look better (and less disease ridden) than the models in the book, I really have to wonder - was that the best they could do? Yeesh....I Should have used drawings, or at least people who have taken a shower recently.

I thought I heard the artist used her self as a model for some of the pics....ewwww

The artist was a guy, all the models to where volenteers most where amaturs to my understanding(though I may be wrong here). While i didn't like all the pics I thought some where very artist and erotic and many where not and a couple was eeeww.(but I think the eeeww pics was on purpose), those that looked dirty I think that was on purpose as well, Dnd is based on fantasy medivel. Adventures who travel a lot i could see being dirty often I think the point was to capture the realise(once more i could be wrong but that was the impression I got.) my personal fav pic was the nymph/demon halfbreed on page 154. Now with that all said I think I would have prefered artwork myself.

As far as usefull, some of it was usefull some of what is usefull isn;t even eroitc or sexual in nature. Some of it I thought was a bit silly, but almost all of it I found a interasting read wether i use it or not.

In the games we have played since one of us had the book we have used bits of it, which parts have changed from game to game. I personally found it most usefull as a inspirational source than anything.(but to be fair I use most game books that way)

I own a copy of the book.

I've used bits and pieces out of it. I thought the take on alignments and races was a good read. In a campaign I play in, it is used fairly extensively.

I didn't find the material inside to be sub-par, especially compared with other works like Nymphology or netbook of carnal knowledge.

Considering the topics, I thought it was fairly well written and with a more serious lean. While not a big fan of the photoshopped pics, I thought it was a nice change of pace. Some were done well, some were not.

Some of the spells and magic items I liked. Just interesting flavor things.

Despite using bits and pieces out of the book and despite occasional in-game npc/pc dalliances, our games probably don't get anywhere near x-rated. Just because you have and/or use the book doesn't mean things have to get x-rated.

I think the purchase was worth it, though I think it walked the line and was nearly expensive enough to not-justify the purchase.

There's some creepy stuff in there that goes suprisingly well with my Book of Vile Darkness...my players should be scared, very scared...

There was really only one pic that made me go, 'Ew'. That was the pleasure golem pic.

You *do* realize that I now have to find the book just to look at that pic, right? ;)

I was wondering if anyone bought the Book of Erotic Fantasy?

I browsed through it in the shop but the pics nearly seared my eyeballs out. What a bunch of NON-erotic, topless amateurs!

I think it would have served the publishers much better if they actually had "erotic" illustrations instead of photographs. It needn't be hardcore or anything. Maybe something along the lines of the nymph in the Monster Manual.

Anyway, with my eyeballs seared out (and the guy in a raincoat queing behind me) I didn't really look at the quality of the material within.

Has anyone used it? (Keep it clean, please.)

Nope. Sex always goes on behind closed doors in my games. I did have a naked chick running around in my last game, then my player complained about it being rated 'R' for that reason. I guess he doesn't know that I'm a nudist. :D

Personally, I bought the book for the little squiggly spots on the paper in between the pictures.

If I wanted porn, I'd buy a Hustler or a Playboy.

I found the rules pretty well done, well thought out, and worth the money. The pictures, while not Playboy or Penthouse or Hustler quality, were far better than I expected.

Most of those people WERE amatuers, and doing it for the fun of it. As for being dirty, I looked at them after you mentioned it, and besides the gorey ghoul chick and the crotch-spiders, didn't see people too dirty, much less skanky.

Geez, you act like you expected it to have J-Lo or someone inside of it.

I've used the Tantrist and other classes, as well as spells, skills, feats and creatures, and added the Appearance statistic to my game. It wasn't that horrible, and worth the money to me.

But then...

Eh, nvm

Good to hear somebody's using it, Warlord! As for the artificially raised expectations, I've heard that's at least partially a product of American society, where net porn and Glamour covers and Maxim Totally Awesome Chicks specials pretty much blow any realistic concept of what a normal woman is going to look like out of the youngins' minds... But that's a radically different topic.
