X3: Terran Conflict

I do not remember if this reported before, but it seems that the final chapter of the X " trilogy " will soon be upon us, in the form of a standalone expansion of X3.

I only got into the series with X3 last year, but I have sunk a LOT of time into it. I am interested to see what the last game is going to be like.

I am still playing X2. That game is the way a time-sink should be. I am looking forward to X3 though, maybe after I take over the X2 universe with my ammo and missile fabs.

I just find it unfortunate that there is no way to tell how much time you have actual spent on X3, as the " time played " counter keeps track of universe time, not game time per se. So when you are in 10x speed mode, it counts 10x... However, by my estimates I have played over 300 hours, or more than I played on Oblivion...

If only some bug was not keeping the Xenon invasion missions from happening, I would be able to get enough money for my Boron pilot to buy a battleship and crush the Split...

I loved X3. I stopped just short of being able to afford my first Destroyer, but had something in the neighborhood of 30+ factories/Complexes. I'm not sure if I finished the plot or not, since my first major complex was in Paranid space. I was also enjoying setting up a trading dock system for moving merchandise around to my HQ as well as between factories.

I never got a chance to fool around with X-Tended (I think that's what it was called), the X3 mod that added 90+ new systems, including Terran ones.

I wonder if Energy is still going to be the big cash cow it was in X2 and X3 (less so in X3, but I made more money with Solar plants than any other factory)
