XP Awarding

I have a complete home brew XP system that I'll post if you like. It never requires you to figure out a CR or EL of an encounter. It can be tailored to any advancement pace you like. It shifts the (minor) record keeping to the player rather than the DM. And it tends to focus the players on roleplaying their charcter well (as defined by the player, not the DM).

Let me know if you want to see it. I've posted it before and I know it has been adopted by at least a few ENWorlders.

I wish that were my problem. I have a group of 4. 2 are experienced dnd/pnp players the other 2 are new to the pnp scene. For the most part they've just had the video game thing regarding experience and think that they have to kill everything in sight to gain levels. I'm slowly weaning them off this but every now and then "video game mode" rears it ugly head and problem solving goes out the window. If anyone has advice to banish this little demon please be forthcoming.
