[XPH] Pyro? What about...

Looking for a quick opinion, folks. Are there any balance reasons not to allow cryokineticists (cold) and electrokineticists (electricity) as variants on the pyrokineticist? They would have the exact same abilities, down to the last mechanical detail; only the energy type changes. I know that flavor-wise, pyrokineticism has a history and the others don't. I also know that fewer creatures have resistance to acid and sonic, which is why I didn't include them. But seeing as how (roughly) as many critters are resistant to electricity or cold as are to fire, are there any balance issues I'm overlooking? Or should this be a mechanically "safe" option, assuming they fit the setting in terms of flavor?

I suspect that if you follow the guidelines for energy types that are implicit in the Energy XXX powers of the XPH, you'll be fine. For example: Cold deals the same damage, but has a Fort save; Sonic deals damage 2 die sizes smaller (d4 Sonic Lash), etc.

I'm working on a "better" Pyro, that has mechanics for gaining & using Power Points, and that incorporates the Psionic Focus and Expend Focus mechanics, and it'll be more amenable to other conversion, since it'll grant many of the Energy XXX powers.

As soon as I overcome the utter shame of not having hit on that idea myself--it's really right there in front of me, in black and white--I'll implement it. :o

Thanks. :)
