Dismayed that he is falling behind in this fight, Victarion marshalls his strength and falls back on his own signature style in an attempt to gain some kind of advantage.

"Hmmm..." Patch thinks hard while rubbing the stubble around his chin with one hand. Tipping back his hat he continues, "Victarion's attack would pack the most punch, but it would have to hit first. Irene's attack nailed it though. She wins her third flag and therefore the match!"

"Irene, you gain a rank and rise to a new tier. Since it's your first tier, you now choose a path, and a signature ability ta go with it. You're free to choose any of the locations or styles that exist this time. Ya also gain 5 yen plus the one you found during this match. Your record is now 1/1." Patch explains to Irene.

"Victarion, ya may have lost the match, but you've turned it into a win-win situation by use of your potion of greed, providing you with 8 yen. Also, while your record may be 1/1 now, you can't lose a tier that you've attained. You remain an Honored One Apprentice 1." Patch tells Victarion.

"Congratulations on a good fight to both of ya. Good luck in the future to each of ya, bub." Patch says with a vague wave over his shoulder as he hitches his pack up and walks off into the distance.

Victarion offers a low bow to Patch as he walks off, and then turns and offers a similar bow to Irene. "Thank you for the challenging fight. Your skills are most impressive. I am sure you have many victories in your future."

Irene silently bows to both Victarion and Patch, and turns to leave. After a few steps, she pauses and gets some blue dust from her pouches.
"There is another thing that inspires me to fight, though it is related to what I wrote earlier." the dust forms as Irene continues to move away. "The sky. The clouds and the stars."
