(YB! Meta) A New Path Suggestion!

Rathan

First Post
Well I've been working on this off anf on for a few days now... and I think I've come up with a new path that most will like.... it uses the defence of a move instead of the style and loc of the move..... they gain immunities from the defences and makes the defence of the move as they are now more usefull.. kal kinda liked the idea.. lets see how many of you will... :D

The Path of the Defender

Concept: The defender is skilled in using key defences aginst their opponets moves. They learn these defeces slowly but they are potent.

Progression and Ranks

White Belt: No Ranks
Apprentice Defender: 0-2
Skilled Defender: 0-4
Advanced Defender: 0-6
Master Defender: 0-8
True Defender: 0-10
The Untouchable: No Ranks

Special Powers and Abilities:

Apprentice Defender: Sig Defense, Sprit of the Defender, Chi Strike
Skilled Defender: Sig Defense, Courage of the Defender, Purity of Focus
Advanced Defender: Dirty Trick, Master of Movement, Fists of Fury
Master Defender: Sig Defense, Might of the Defender, Purtiy of Focus
True Defender: Sig Defense, Fists of Fury
The Untouchable: Sig Defense, Perfect Defense, Counterstrike

Sig Defense: Grants Immunity to the two styles attatched to the defense

Sprit of the Defender: A Defender gains the defence of his first move (this has no bearing on his first move) as a sig defense for the remainer of the match.

Courage of the Defender: You are able to resist one trick per match. (Call call resist after a trick is called).

Might of the Defender: You body can withstand a massive strike and remain unharmed. ( Call Resist to one round won by your opponent per match).

Counterstrike: Before judgement is called in a round you may call counterstrike and deal as much damage to your opponet as he has to you if you lose the round.

It is my understanding each of the YB paths are designed to oppose another path, with the exception of the Sash. I would think any new path would have to follow the previous design, and oppose the path of the Sash. This path is interesting, but I do not think it fills that criteria.

This path gains immunity to 12 Styles, and working out which of them he has requires cross-referencing his defenses with the styles he's immune too, I think that a Sig Defence should grant immunity to any move using that Defence (possibly getting 2 a level to make up for it only being defensive but I think the rather potent defender powers may make 2 immunities per level a tad to good). On the other hand shoving new Paths in right now doesn't seem to fit the current path standings, perhaps something to look at if there's a revision again.

I had intended to just get an idea of how people liked tha path.. I wasn't actually suggesting we put it into motion untill a rewrite of the rules was done.... unless enough people like it..then maybe we can consider it for a path in this version of YB!

oopsy, i missed what sig defense did, maybe when they get a sig defense, they should pick 1 of the 2 which it defends against, and then become immune to that 1.
