(YB) Nekokaburi Defeats Tiny (Ciaran Judged)

"Tiny's move is quite powerful, with no obvious flaws. But Nekokaburi turns a normally passive technique into a virtue; the scorpion lies in wait until it can sting its unsuspecting prey. His defense combines strength and elegance, and it is on the basis of that elegance that I grant him the round. Point to Nekokaburi."

One flag Nekokaburi, two flags neutral.

Tiny uses the watery turtle style to drown his opponent in a shower of fists.....

3: The turtle drowns the cavern; dodges the rising of the crevice!

Nekokaburi stands almost motionless, countering Tiny's Turtle kung fu with the Scuttling Crab Form. The air about him is a whirling blur of fists, however he shifts slightly to avoid each blow, eyes locked with his opponent.

4: The claw tracks in the midst of the island; grasps the descent of the barrens as it painlessly conceals the rising of the wind!

Then, without warning, Nekokaburi lashes out with an open palm to strike against Tiny's closed fist, and a Swinging Pincer strike against Tiny's elbow, to hammer the joint the wrong way.

“Tiny’s attack is more powerful, while Nekokaburi has the superior defense. Both use synergy well, though here I think Nekokaburi has the edge. All things considered, Nekokaburi acts with greater subtlety, allowing him to overcome his opponent’s defenses. The clawed beast slips past the falling waters and, finding an island of safety, snares the turtle within its grasp. Point to Nekokaburi.”

Two flags Nekokaburi, one flag neutral.

Tiny continues his assult with a falling northstar fist to the head

2: The northstar tramples the glacier; negates the foray of the elements!

Nekokaburi darts to the side of the Northstar Fist as Tiny attacks, and spins half a circle to bring his foot crashing against the thug with a swift roundhouse, to drive him reeling to the ground.

2: The crane devastates the prairie; roughly scatters the thrust of the sickle!

"Both moves are quite strong; strong offense, good defense. But Tiny essays the Northstar style during the day, which is inauspicious. Point and Match to Nekokaburi."

Three flags Nekokaburi.
Victory to Nekokaburi!

"Nekokaburi, you have won your first match, improving your battle record to 1-1. You may now choose a path: that of Honor, that of the Yen, or that of the Yakuza. I feel confident in your choice, however, knowing that you are an honorable man.

"Tiny, you remain a White Belt, with a record of 0-1. You almost won this match, and with your strength, you shall surely win another in due course."

Nekokaburi bows deeply before the Ancient Master, hands clasped firmly in the Sun and Moon gesture of respect. He rises, and bows just as deeply before Tiny.

"Ancient Master, this day will see me embark up on the Path of Honor, as you have no doubt surmised."

The judge smiles. "Then I am pleased to grant you the rank of Yellow Belt 0. Your signature style is the noble Crane. Go forth with pride, warrior of honor!"

Nekokaburi smiles briefly at a private and somewhat wry joke, then looks to the judge.

"Many thanks, Ancient Master. The powerful kicks of the Crane Form are an excellent compliment to the Thousand Blows of Blackfist Style!"

"Fare you well on your own path, Tiny. It was indeed a pitched battle, and it took every technique I could summon to defeat you."

Once pleasantries are completed, Nekokaburi turns, and begins the long journey from the cliff. His new master awaits, and he is one step closer to defeating his bane.

OoC: Thanks again for judging, Ciaran - you have an excellent style. And thanks for picking up the challenge, Rathan.
