(YBA) Cait Sith through the Valley of Death (Pt. 3)

it makes me sad to kill the old thread. we had that going since may 2002

Cait carefully makes his way up the weathered stairs. When he arrives at the top of the stairs he sees they lead to a path surrounded by walls of boulders on either side. The air smells strange, like a newly paved road (although Cait doesn't know what that smells like of course)

It would have been nice to keep it all on one thread

Cait makes his way cautiously forward, along the path.

continuing down the path, Cait comes upon a steaming pool of tar.

 

[Wicht]

Suspecting that this is the pool he was told of and pleased at finding it so quickly, Cait Sith slowly wanders the edge of it, looking for anything suspicious or out of the ordinary.

Aware that more bandits might also be nearby, Cait also keeps an ear open for trouble.

From behind, Cait hears a voice that says "He ain't here no more"

Turning around Cait sees a small man wearing overalls and a straw hat...

 

[Wicht]

Cait Sith tries not to look too surprised and bows a quick greeting before asking, "Who is not here no more and were did he go?"

The rock man... left a few days ago with some robed people. This is Gul-go land now...

The man squares his shoulders and draws himself to his full height (3 or 4 feet)

 

[Wicht]

"Do you mean the spirit of the rock? Which way did they go? I am seeking for him?"

" And if you do not mind me asking, who do the Gul-go call their allies?"

 

[tleilaxu]

The little man shrugs, Spirit, Man, what's the difference? It's only words. He waves his arm vaguely to the east. They went off yonder... Down, away from this part of the valley. My cousin Mog seen the whole thing. Gul-go don't come to this area much since the rock man likes to squish us into jelly for his sandwiches (i guess). But Mog has always been a little bit... The man makes the universal sign for "crazy". Seems him and Jarf (that's my Second Cousin's Husband's Brother's Son) have been chasing after the same girl and Mog came down here to find some jools to impress her. 'Course I didn't know about it, or I'd have given him a hiding like nothing else. Mog is always making trouble. Last year he jumped off a moving wagon and nearly broke his leg!

The man folds his arms and looks at Cait like this should explain everything.

What do you think about that?
