(YBA) Cait Sith through the Valley of Death (Pt. 3)

Cait surveys the area for any sign of humanity and then if he sees no one or nothing, he makes his way along the path.

 

[tleilaxu]

Cait can see from the trail that several different tracks go down and up the path... Some of them are human and others seem quite mysterious...

 

[Wicht]

Cait Sith takes a good look at the stranger tracks so that later he might be able to match it with feet. Then shrugging his pack onto his shoulder once more and keeping his eyes (and ears) open for trouble he makes his way along the path.

 

[tleilaxu]

The tracks don't look like anything Cait has seen before. They are huge, about two feet around, and almost circular. Cait continues up the path and it begins to narrow till about only five people would walk abreast. On either side rocky outcroppings shoot up. Cait hears a hissing sound from behind him and-

Cait is hit from behind by something...

The spider becomes one with the beach; parts the drive of the field!

 

[Wicht]

Cait Sith spins and tries to defend himself.

The cherry blossom breaks the beach; shields the terror of the field!

The unicorn kicks underneath the vineyard; fends off the rising of the pole!

Cait mutters a few choice words, sending lightning from his fingers towards the offending feline.

The lightning glides near the village; negates the thrust of the insect!

The bobcat is too quick and avoids the lightning spell, instead ripping at Cait's outstretched hand...

The tiger leaps by the labyrinth; parts the thrust of the horn!

 

[Wicht]

Cait stumbles back only momentarily before lashing out again.

The northstar silences the vineyard; absorbs the efforts of the flower and poetically averts the throw of the stone!

Cait cuts down the bobcat, gaining .5 experience...

In the aftermath of the battle the trail is quiet and peaceful, a strange contrast to the sudden violence which has just occurred...
