(YBA) Drax in Wicht's Lair (continued)

Drax listens to rumors.

It seems that there is some speculation among some of the fighters as to what happens to all the bodies of those killed in the arena. Nobody seems to know.

There is a story being told about someone breaking into the house of the cult of Tutul.

Finally, Drax overhears someone whisper to another about a reward for the the death of palace guards. That particular rumor is whispered in hushed tones and the speaker is swiftly silent when he sees Drax listening.

Seeing that there seems to be nothing interestin in the city, Drax decides it can't really hurt to check the local seweres. He finds a dark alley where nobody is looking (if possible) and clambers down to the sewers.
This is of course only possible if the city does have sewers :p

In fact the city does have sewers, but the entrances to them in the streets are just large enough for chamber pots, not really for a man.

Asking around, Drax is told that the main entrance to the sewers can be found just north of the lake of dreams, the body of water between the cross streets and the Bizarre.

One man also tells Drax that there are rumored to be secret entrances to the sewers in some of the houses and that the four cults are said to use the sewers quite regularly.

Since Drax isn't really up for breaking into other people's houses (too much trouble for what it's worth), he decides to go for the main entrance.

The lake of dreams is rather easy to find as its the only body of water in the whole huge cavernous city.

As Drax looks over the lake, he sees clearly that there is an island in the middle of the lake. Following the shore of the lake to the northern most part of the water leads to a place where a large pipe, about ten feet wide, slowly empties a dark stream of liquid into the waters of the lake.

The worst thing about the tunnel is the smell, but once Drax gets used to that its not so bad. It is pretty dark inside the tunnel and just up ahead Drax can hear something moving through the water.

The sewers look better in the dark. But the light from the torch does reveal that the thing splashing around ahead of Drax is a very large ugly crocidile of questionable origins. Its face is warty and its nostrils huge. With a malicious reptilian grin the croc charges towards Drax.
