YBA Questions?

Being new to YBA, I have a few questions.
1. When purchasing a modifier like unseen, emerald, flying, etc. The rules state it costs 1 exp. point to buy them. Do you have to have generated the modifier during your fights to be able to gain it. Also I noticed YBA characters, monsters, and npc's with powers like: Student of the Flying Rat. Does this mean that the modifier only works the the said Signature or location? Or do you get the benifit if you generate the modifier with any sig. or location?

2. Do you only gain yen when you are fighting a creature with a yen factor and if a *yen* or *yen yen* is generated in the fight with said creature. Or do you gain yen equal to a creatures yen factor when you defeat it and/or if a *yen* or *yen yen* is generated in a fight?

Thanks!

You may pick any modifier at any time you have the experience available to buy it. It comes into effect whenever you generate a move with that modifier (or when a move is altered through perfect mastery).

The yen factor is the amount multiplied by the number of yen generated (either by the fighter or the enemy) during the fight to determine the amount of yen that comes up. Thus if you are fighting a monster with a 0 yen factor, no matter how many yen are generated, none is earned in the fight. But if you fight a monster with a yen factor of 2 and you generate a yen move and the monster generates a yen move then you earn a total of 4 yen if you defeat the monster.
