[YBA] Wicht..I Have a New YBA Skill to Run By You......

A needed clarification:

Will how this power work with Fist of Fury mirror YB? That is, can you use a Fist of Fury and use Poison Blade on each of the attacks?

Oh, and another thing. If we decide about how Fist of Fury interacts with Poison Blade, we really should decide about a couple other powers, too. Off the top of my head, I can think of both Gain Life and Steal Life (both currently given a limit that can be added per "attack").

You know we had the same problem with wording in the YB rules, one would think I would learn my lesson.

Poison blade, gain life and steal life should all read as "per generated move" instead of "per round." That clears up the confusion.

OK, good :).

The rules as they currently read are worded correctly to allow that. I have a little note saying that the Fist of Fury counts as two separate "attacks", and I've made sure that every relevant power is worded correctly (ie, giving the power a limit per "attack").

A small consequence of this is that the Bodyguard power could be interpreted to do some weird stuff. Should it be able to redirect just the second attack of a Fist of Fury? And if so, how would that work?

For reference, the effect of the Bodyguard power.
A fighter with the Bodyguard power may, once per fight per Bodyguard known, redirect one attack from a teammate to himself. The fighter generates a move as normal and the moves are judged as normal, however any resulting damage is done to the fighter who used his Bodyguard power.

hmm... I will have to think how to reword the bodyguard power then. I would say that it oughta redirect all the damage from the full fist of fury as it is supposed to be the one fighter placing himself between the two other combatants.

Well, here's a slightly cumbersome way to reword it to make clear it redirects all attacks made by a single fighter in one round. Changed part in bold.

A fighter with the Bodyguard power may, once per fight per Bodyguard known, redirect one round's worth of attacks made by a single fighter from a teammate to himself. The fighter generates a move as normal and the moves are judged as normal, however any resulting damage is done to the fighter who used his Bodyguard power.

Does this read better:

"Once per round, per bodyguard known, the fighter may redirect the damage caused by the attack(s) of a single fighter onto himself. Both attacker and defender generate moves as normal, but if the defender loses the round, he takes no damage. The bodyguard takes whatever damage the defender would have otherwise recieved from the one attacker."

One problem. "Once per round per bodyguard known" implies that if you purchase the Bodyguard power just once, you can use it one time every round. That contradicts the current wording.

Also, is Bodyguard intended to be buyable more than once?

Most of the powers are intended to be buyable more then once, bodyguard included. You are right though, that should read once per fight not once per round.
