Year of the Zombie Question

After reading a couple of reviews about Year of the Zombie, I was left with a question. Is Year of the Zombie an actual d20 Modern game or does it just include notes for use with d20M?

YotZ requires the d20 Modern rules to run. A lot of the book is fluff material, but the mechanics (of which there are plenty) require d20 Modern to use.

What he said. It's basically an extensive collection of zombie survival horror rules for use with d20 Modern. I wish I hadn't lost my copy in a hard drive crash, as I was smitten with the product (d20 Modern is my favorite commercially available version of d20 and I loves me some flesh eating geeks from beyond the grave).

[Edit: While I'm thinking about it, the excellent Fear Effects supplement published by 12 to Midnight compliments YotZ nicely, as does their Weekend Warriors adventure.]

If you purchased the products from RPGNow or ENWorld, you should be able to download them again... No reason for the lost thing to stay lost.

Actually, I received YotZ as a review copy when I was running RPGNow's review department ;)

Ouch. I feel your pain there; I had one of those eleven months ago. While I was able to redownload a lot of what I'd lost, there was also plenty that I couldn't (also mostly from reviewing). I went, hat in hand, to quite a few publishers and asked if they would be kind enough to send me replacements. To my surprise, 80% of them said yes, which was exceedingly kind of them, since they had to take it on faith that I was telling the truth and not just trying to con them. I did still have to re-purchase some products, but not very many.

Since then, I've bought an external DVD-writer, and periodically back up all of my d20 materials on blank discs.

Let Ralts know.. he'll likely send you a copy, or authorize a new download. He's cool like that.

It's a d20 Modern product. You need d20 Modern to play it.

I'll second the advice to grab "Weekend Warriors" because if nothing else, the maps will be useful for when the party gets the idea to hit up the local military base for supplies.
