You call yourself a Drizzt fanboy?

I'm pretty sure Icingdeath has a black panther's head made of adamantine for a pommel.

Umm... Not sure. I know Khazid-dea, aka Cutter, Cattri-brie's intelligent sword that she took from the weapon master of House Baenre in Starless Night, could change its pommels shape, making a panther's head to entice Drizzt to wield it (it wanted the best swordsman). Unfortunately for it, it was a longsword and Drizzt overlooked it, giving it to Cattri-brie instead. Later, after she bent it (mostly) to her will, it changd its pommel to a unicorns head for her.

Given that, I doubt Salvatore would have had Icingdeath also have a panther head (of course, Icingdeath was introduced long before Khazid-dea, but anyways - he doesn't usually repeat himself).

I know Drizzit's swords are simitars(SP?). I thought simitars had curved blades. The two swords pictured are not curved.

Heh heh...no kidding. Can you imagine a burglar breaking into the home of some D&D geek who proceeds to draw a *sword* to defend his property? The burglar would probably fall over laughing before the sword would even strike him.

Perhaps, but think about it this way... You're sneaking through a dark house, wondering where the owner keeps the silver. Suddenly, you see a figure in the doorway, silhouetted against the window behind him. The sharp blade in his hands gleams in the dim, pale light. In a deep voice, he speaks:
"Get the Nine Hells out of my house or prepare to die!"

I mean, at the very least, the geek with the sword would get a circumstantial bonus to his Intimidate check. +4, I think.
