D20 modern death

WOTC is releasing the OGLed D20 modern at GAMA, or so I have been told. We are going to have a lot of work to do to move our system over to the D20 so we will need some playtesters - especially Memphis people - so we get all the significant landmarks right, like say, police stations, hotels, bars and well... som eof the more nefarious and lovely night spots.

Lock and load babies, drop the line, you're going into the most dangerous city in America...

Comrades

We have no forums or such as yet, I am going to have one day to set up what i can in about 8 days. So I will try to get something up on that or we can work on something.

Actually the d20 modern is not released until November, but I believe the liscensing is released in two weeks - Steve knows the details - or should.

We are building the equip list as we speak

The:

FM 7-8 Infantry Rifle Platoon and Squad
read this to learn;

Ambush
Hasty Ambush
Deliberate Ambush
Point Ambush
Area Ambush
Anti Armor Ambush

And pray pray pray you live long enough to sign your DD 214.

If you accept international playtesters, I have a nice group, veteran Cyberpunk gamers, who would LOVE to playtest the system for you. Please, if you're interested, drop me a line.

Please....

Xenophobic Patriotism!

Erik,

Davis continually accuses me of a xenophobic patriotism! LOL So I have no doubt that the other designers, the playtesters and any and all others will be certain to slap me around as often as not!

But more on the game itself . . . the cool thing about Comrades, is its tone. The game is designed for you to play soldiers or soldier type scientists who are in it over their heads. We are designing it with hard hitting fast paced combat rules in which mortality is common. Those players who make good Comrades will be those who live. In other words, you have to "watch your buddies six." If you don't, he'll go down, if he goes down, you will.

Leadership and Comrade points are granted to those who excell at being true comrades.

Of course there are many variants, its not ONLY soldiers and combat. You can play the medic, the lone pilot who ownes a bi-plane with two remote controlled M-60s mounted on the wings, the hard hitting cizilian on the Harley with tatooes of Gygax on your chest! There are going to be many varients.

Also, the setting itself is going to be strikingly new . . . none of this post-apopolyptic nuclear bio-terroism chem-zapped world face for Comrades, but in the same vein as all our setting, it is one based in coherent history and logic.

This thing is rockin! All those who are interested in playtesting this game email the Troll dudes at comrades@trolllord.com

Sorry for the misspelled words..screw you Troll Davis!

Thanks all,
Steve

Myth and Reality

Steve and I are debating something concerning the setting for this thing. I want to present a more common myth approach to what the heck is going on and why Memphis is so nutty a place and Steve wants to give the facts. I see the need for the DM to know but for the players to know may detract from potential intersting takes on American politics in the near future and all that paranoia crap.

Don't expect post-apocolyptic end-of-the-world bio/nuke war half mutant, mech warriors junk - other games manage those very very well. (Our fave has always been Gamma world anyway - but we are old stoggy gamers, stuck in ruts dug in our youth).

Anyway... The truth? or the percieved truth?

Setting?

Ok so it's not Gamma World (a setting which I love, guess you could figure that out from my handle), but is it set more during the Social Wars period that eventually led to the Apocalypse?
I'm just dying for more info on this game!
Regards,
Brutorz Bill

There are those who believe that perception is truth. I think that a perceived reality would be more interesting -- it would leave room for GMs to create a sinister "reality" that underlies the entire campaign world. If you wanted to provide some bits of verisimilitude about Memphis, et al, you could - but just for the GM's own reference. Then, let the twisted minds of those in charge of the session run amok... mwa ha ha ha!

AHEM. Sorry about that :)
