Your favorite contingencies

This use is pretty pedestrian, but I prefer to go for offense over defense so:

"The next time I cast Hase an improved invisibility goes off."

This gives me an extra defensive spell in the first round of combat, which frees up an action for blasting bad guys. Of course, other spell combinations are also possible here.

I'd say battle spells are a good use for chain contingency. "When I say 'Lock and load' activate haste, shield, and improved invisibility". Save contingency for the "teleport away when badly injured" sort of thing.

First, I don't think you can use Contingency and Chain Contingency together.

Also, I don't think it can stop something mid effect. If you go to -20 HP in one hit, that Contingency (Heal) does no good. I like the use of a triger phrase to activate them, very good for round one.

As far as my favorite spells, I like area of effect spells that help allys. You are usually grouped together in the first round, so being able to drop the extra party buffs is great.

What's up with wizard with the great axe?

Contingency + Tenser's Transformation, to strip away the thin veneer of civilization on yer half-orc Barbarian/Wizard.
