Your Favorite Region(s) in Khorvaire

Breland wins at this point but ALL of the twelve (13 including the elven island) have great possibilities.

Close seconds-

Mournelands-

What is there not to like about a country that is a god's testament about waging war?

The Reaches

Always like thick ancient forests. Something about an awakened tree druid that "runs" the place seems neat.

Talana Plains

Everyone groans about the dinosaurs (but then go there anyway ;) ) but seeing at how the halflings and the elves are at war over it....

Least favorite-

Demon Wastes
I have at this point no solid ideas involving the place.

The Elves Island
I will need to cyke myself up for playing there. It is such an unual culture.

Looks like the dwarves (Mror Holds) ain't getting any respect, oh well I didn't vote for them either, though they are a bit distanced from the steriotypical dwarf. (They'll teach us later about that.)

Anyways my vote goes for the gnomes (Zilargo) first, yeah gnome that deserve respect. Then the goblins (Darguun) and monsters (Droaam) get a nod, and followed closely by the halflings (Talenta Plains). And of course, like probably just about everyone, Breland.

Might as well say what I voted for:
Darguun - Goblinoids finally get some respect... and their own nation!
Karrnath - I like the idea of a vampire overlord who is actively interested in his people as opposed to world domination. Also, with the place on military lockdown, there's a lot of potential for adventuring.
Shadow Marches - I quite like the out of the way, full of danger locales. Plus, the fact that it has a large orcish population with druidic tendencies is just cool.
Eldeen Reaches - Whatever campaign setting I've read, any place that has a large forest with a healthy druid population will always be one of my favorites. I don't know why though...
Demon Wastes - If only for the Labyrinth. Now THAT is really cool.

Runners up:
Droaam, Talenta Plains, the Mournlands, and Thrane.

I actually don't think that Breland has much going for it other than Sharn. Honestly, not many parts of Breland really screamed adventure like the others above.

I think it's interesting that the two most popular picks are 1) the least dangerous/ most culturally familiar land (Breland); and 2) the most dangerous land (Mournlands).

I picked the lands that inspired the most quest ideas:
- Aerenal
- Demon Wastes
- Eldeen Reaches
- Karrnath
- Mournlands
- Q'Barra

Breland, Aundair and Zilargo are good places to start out and base from, but they're a bit boring to me (admittedly, Sharn does zip for me - not in the least bit interesting). They're just a little too standard/ similar to what I've already seen.

Valenar & the Mror Holds are different for sure, but I just can't wrap my head around them.
- Valenar: How does a race of raiders, always on the attack, but breeds once or twice a century not depopulate itself in 50 years? It just makes no sense whatsoever to me.
- Mror Holds: Not unbelievable, just not inspiring. I guess they couldn't all be great.

Lazhaar & Talenta fine, just not a nomad/sailor guy (very similar is many respects).

I picked Drooam, because the idea of a monsterous nation is something that makes sense, but is rarely done. I also like Karrnath (very Ravenloftish), the Mournlands (post apocalyptic D&D), and Breeland (Sharn).

1) No one said that a bunch of religously fanatic warriors had to use logic. :D
2) The country hasn't really been around that long yet to depopulate.

Just out of curiosity, where are you getting the data on Valenar breeding habits? As a nation with a strong martial and expansionistic bent, is there any reason that they couldn't be breeding like rabbits? It's not a standard image of elves, but then again, the whole culture isn't standard for elves, is it? I think the idea of the state encouraging large families makes a great deal of sense for the Valenar; their respect for their ancestors seems like it would extend to a desire for large living families.

By contrast, with the Undying Court and the possibility of the dead being restored to life, I would see the Aereni elves as breeding very rarely... possibly even limiting birth to whenever there is a death.
