Hmm. Tough call, but for "cartoon cartoon" characters, I gotta go with Phillip J Fry, from Futurama. He's an idiot, like Homer, but he's got heart. Some of the episodes of Futurama have real emotional content, not just random wackiness. That's why Fry trumps even Homer. Yeah, Homer's had his moments, too, but I just can't identify with being a father or husband.
